On a beautiful May 1 a great result was reached as Kootenay Family Place added to its coffers in fun, fundraiser.

"We're amazed... very pleased," reported Director of Family Programs Lynnene Lewis shortly after the fact.

"We didn't think we had that much," she added, "we didn't think we had that much... plants, kid's clothes, soup and buns, a little garage sale...$650 was raised."

Kootenay Family Place will be part of the annual Teddy Bear's Picnic coming up at Kinsmen Park in June, and hopes to stage another 'fun-raiser' this month.
