Auxiliary makes major donation

Mayor Lawrence Chernoff poses with West Kootenay Boundary Representative, Wendy Schwab declaring May 10 as Auxiliary Day. Wendy is the new president of the Castlegar Auxiliary. She reported that $700,000 was donated by the Auxiliaries in the WKBA. The B.C. Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries have 80 member auxiliaries representing 6,406 adults and 653 young people all of who volunteer to enhance health care for British Columbians. In 2016, member auxiliaries reported 1,235,433 volunteer hours and $8,134,542 was donated to health care. (Submitted)
