The Selkirk Retirees Association has confirmed its plans to hold a barbecue get-together of members on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Bill and Elaine Sloan’s place in Pass Creek.

New retirees from all aspects of college employment are welcome.

In its most recent board meeting, the retirees agreed to hold four gatherings per years, at least two of which will have presentations. Following the fall barbecue, the retirees will meet again in mid-November for dinner at the Scholar’s Dining Room at the Nelson Campus.

The next gathering of Selkirk Retirees will occur in mid-February of 2018. This get-together usually involves a bit of a meeting to outline the status of the association as well as a presentation, either a topic of general interest to the retirees or a major travel slide show. These slide shows in the past have been outstanding in that the presenters take the audience into areas not travelled by most.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2018, the Selkirk Retirees will complete the year with a general meeting and a slide show from former Geology instructor, Lesley Anderton, who will detail her trip to the Shetland Islands. New retirees are welcome to join the group at any time. Contact John Adams or Bert Port.
