Drugs seized at teen dance

A Dec. 11 teen dance at a Castlegar nightclub has led to the arrest of youth several found to be in possession of substances including what may be a veterinary sedative called Ketamine.

An estimated 300-plus youth were in attendance at the Element Club Bar and Grill for the event where no alcohol was being served.

Police had reportedly been summoned due to fighting and suspected drug use at the location.

How and where the youth had come into possession of the drugs was the subject of continued investigation.
