Castlegarians ready for Christmas after Winterfest celebration

Despite a lack of snow, Castlegar's Winterfest 2012 was a popular event for young and old tonight. The Parade of Lights took over downtown Castlegar as about 25 floats and vehicles worked their way around the downtown core to the cheers of hundreds of kids and adults as well.

After the parade of lights, Castlegar Mayor Lawrence Chernoff led the City Hall tree lighting ceremony. Children then got to visit with Santa and hear stories by the tree.
