Facility rental fees for the Castlegar & District Community Complex Arena, room rentals and the Pioneer Arena will be increasing as of September.

The increase is two per cent across the board for rental fees (not admission fees) and Jim Crockett, manager of recreation for Castlegar Recreation, says its to cover cost of living.

“All of our costs go up annually and this is not an abnormal thing, we usually do this pretty much every year,” he explains.

Crockett says that historically the increase was three per cent, but it was dropped to two “in the last few years because of the economy.”

The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) board approved the fee increase at its Aug. 17 meeting.
