Evacuation Order issued for two McCormick Creek homes

The Evacuation Alert issued on Monday has been expanded to two more properties

Two properties in the area of McCormick Creek/Rosebud Lake have been put on Evacuation Order as precautionary measures due to concerns for access and egress.

The current Evacuation Alert in the McCormick Creek area has been expanded to include 2 more properties.

The attached map indicates the Evacuation Order and Evacuation Alert areas.

All affected properties are being visited by the RCMP to ensure this information is being delivered to property owners.

BC Wildfire crews continue to work in the area. At this time there is no Evacuation Alert or Order issued for the Shambhala Music Festival or the Village of Salmo. See map below.

B.C. Wildfire service reports that the fire now covers 160 hectares, up from 100 yesterday.
