It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Stoochnoff on October 30th, 2016. Bill was born March 21st, 1932 in Brilliant, B.C. to Andrew and Lucy. In his early years, Bill worked in the mines, then later as an auto mechanic and before retirement, he worked for the City of Trail. Bill was honoured to be awarded the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award in 2000 for all his volunteer work in the community.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his family:

Mary, Vivian, Paul, Blanche, Troy, Sarah, Salena and Lisa. He is predeceased by his son, his parents and his brother.

Calm and peaceful, he is sleeping

Sweetest rest that follows pain

We who loved him, sadly miss him

But trust in God to meet again.

As Angels keep their watch up there

Please God just let him know

That we down here do not forget

Because we loved him so.

Services were held at Ootischenia Hall on Friday, November 4th, 2016. Arrangements entrusted to Bill Clark of Castlegar Funeral Chapel.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Bill’s name to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the paramedics and emergency staff at both the Castlegar Hospital and Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.
