Fred was born in Crescent Valley, B.C. on February 16, 1936 and passed away on January 24, 2017 at Talarico Place. He grew up in Krestova and enjoyed fishing throughout his life. Fred married Eilleen Saliken in 1954 and moved to Creston. A few years later they moved to Shoreacres where they raised their five children. While living in Shoreacres, Fred enjoyed gardening, fishing and beekeeping.

Fred worked in the forest industry for most of his life as a crane chaser at the local Pope and Talbot Sawmill. After retirement Fred and Eilleen moved to Glade where they enjoyed gardening and spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. After the passing of his wife, Fred moved to Castlewood. There he was a sought after card player and enjoyed participating in the many activities with his Castlewood family.

Fred is survived by his brother Larry (Helen) Postnikof, and children Peggy (Mike) Reeves, Sandra Stoochnoff, Grace Postnikoff and twins Jim Postnikoff and Jean Postnikoff (Doug Wiebe), ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Fred was predeceased by his parents Fred and Nellie Postnikoff, an infant brother, wife Eilleen, granddaughter Desiree Skiboff and grandson Jason Lynette.

The family would like to thank Dr. Larocque and the staff at KBRH and Talarico Place, as well as his Castlewood family for taking such good care of Fred.

In lieu of flowers friends and family are welcome to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Fred’s memory.

Funeral service took place January 31, 2017 at the Crescent Valley Hall with interment at the Krestova Cemetery. Castlegar Funeral Chapel
