Helen Coull passed away peacefully at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on April 4, 2017. Helen was born in Stonehaven, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1954. She spent the first years in Edmonton followed by a move to Calgary where she spent some 35 years actively involved in Lawn Bowling, Scottish Country Dance, Bridge and was consistently lucky at Bingo.

Helen moved to Castlegar in the fall of 2011 to be closer to her family and considered herself very fortunate to live at Castlewood Village. She often remarked she didn’t think she could have landed anywhere better.

Helen was predeceased by her husband, John (Jack) Coull and eldest son, Kenneth and his wife Marilyn Coull. Helen is survived by her son, Ian and Barbara Coull, daughter, Katharine and Shawn McWeeny, as well as seven grandchildren and their families.

Cremation has taken place and at Helen’s request there will be no memorial service in Canada. Helen’s ashes will be returned to Stonehaven, the place of her birth.
