It is with broken hearts that we announce that God has sent his angles to keep Marie company on her journey to heaven.

Marie May Wild (Weir) 51 peacefully passed away at home on October29, 2016 after a long struggle with Cancer.

Marie was born to Daryl and Jean Weir on February 14, 1965 in Trail, BC. At the age of 3 she moved to Castlegar where she lived for both her elementary and high school years.

Growing up Marie learnt how to figure skate and later earned the title of “Miss Congenitally” in the Miss Castlegar pageant. She graduated from Stanley Humphries Secondary in 1983 and then attended Selkirk College where she studied Special Education.

She married in August of 1991 and two years later moved to Richmond BC. Followed by a move to Maple Ridge in 1995 where she lived with her husband and children for the next 5 years. She divorced in 2000 but remained in Maple Ridge where she lived until her passing. Marie met Al in 2006 and they were inseparable from that day forward.

Marie was a gourmet cook and loved cooking for family and friends. She was also an excellent seamstress. Marie created many Halloween costumes, dance costumes, evening dresses and even wedding apparel.

Marie often cared for others in need.

She is survived by her parents, 3 children that she loved deeply; Alexandra Weir, Cassandra Wild and Kealan Wild, as well as her 2 brothers Ron Weir (Charlene), Duane Weir (Tracey) and many Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She will also be dearly missed by her friend Al Marcellin and friends who loved her.

She is predeceased by both grandparents Walter and Beatrice Weir. Bill and Mary Callaghan, and her uncles Brent Weir and George Callaghan.

Cremation has taken place and a service held in Maple Ridge at the caring Center.

There will be a celebration of her life held in Castlegar on Saturday April 15, 2017 – time and place will be announced at a later date.
