Editorial: Survey worth a lot
With the annual Home and Lifestyles Expo held at the start of March and the nominations kicking off for the local business awards, this is traditionally a busy time of year for the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce. When better than the first signs of spring to be raising a profile, helping folks think about growth and improvement?
The Expo was again a well-worthwhile event enjoyed by a capacity turnout of entrepreneurs, plus a most healthy showing from the public. The next big thing in this part of the West Kootenays has just as much positivity wrapped around it.
The Chamber’s business awards are decided upon and presented with the best interests of the community in mind. Your opinions are the ones that matter. The business you choose to nominate is up to you, whether the enterprise you have in mind is a Chamber member or not.
The straightforward goal of the awards process is to honour business and service excellence so it can not only survive... but spread. The intended winners (along with the award recipients) are all of us who call Castlegar and area home.
How many times have you told someone of a good deal you got, and the nice way you got it? Put those kind thoughts into action and make sure your high opinion of that merchant is registered and recorded. It’s as easy as picking up a nomination form at the Chamber office just south of the Community Complex.
