I would like to submit a huge shout out and heartfelt thank you to a local mechanical shop, In Gear Mechanical (2141 Columbia Ave.).
My family was pulling our trailer though the Kootenay Pass to Christina Lake when out transmission failed. After calling a number of shops, and after speaking to their wonderful service writer Angela, I had us towed to IN GEAR Mechanical.
The staff at IN GEAR were nothing short of amazing. They stayed late to wait for us and check over our truck, and the owner Eric even towed our trailer for us to the Christina Lake provincial park so my family could still have a vacation while we waited for the parts to arrive.
Eric, Angela and Mark (the mechanic) are nothing short of heroes to us. The fixed our transmission - ensuring that our trip back to St. Albert, Alberta was safe, and they saved our family vacation. They have even follow up with us to ensure all is running smoothly. My only regret is that they are too far away from us, as if this were in my own community - I would never take our vehicles anywhere else. What a gem you have in your community.
