The West Kootenay Wildcats played for third place in the Vernon tournament and won in a shootout.

Even though our team had a better goals for ratio, we ended up playing for third place - there were eight teams in the tournament. The Vernon tournament didn't use BC Hockey tie breaker rules, and used the penalty rule as their first tie breaker. The Terrace team, Richmond team and our Kootenay team were all tied with 2 wins. The Terrace team went onto winning the tournament beating the host Vernon team 5-1.

That game went to Overtime 4 on 4 for 4 min, then 3 on 3 for 3min. Then went to a shootout.

The Abbotsford team shot first and Catalina Hartland saved it.

The Kootenay team then had Merissa Dawson shoot, and she scored.

The Abbotsford team shot again and scored.

The Kootenay team had to shoot again, and Kendra Waterstreet scored.

It was all up to Catalina Hartland to save the next shot and we would win, Catalina stopped the Abbotsford players shot for the win.
