Vlanich scores game winner for Rebs over Border Bears
It wasn't as easy as many would have thought, but the Castlegar Rebels picked up their seventh win in a row Tuesday against Grand Forks at the complex.
Dakota Kittle put the Bruins up 1-0 at 10:50 of the first period with a quick snap shot that beat Rebel goalie Jordan Gluck top shelf.
The Rebs put a lot of pressure on GF goalie Dominic Stadnyk, but weren't able to get one past him until captain Erik Alden scored early in the second period, assisted by Stu Walton and Travis Wellman, to tie the game.
The teams stayed tied until Castlegar forward Jamie Vlanich found the back of the net at 1:39 assisted by Bryan Lubin.
The win brought the Rebels into a tie for first in both the Neil Murdoch division and the entire KIJHL with the Nelson Leafs at 63 points.
