Faith Foundations: God is no respecter of persons

“Everywhere I go I meet people from every nation and language who are fellow believers in Jesus.”

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, ‘Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him … To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.’” – Acts 10:34-35, 43

I have been privileged to travel all over the world. I lived for a couple of years in Europe. I have visited Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Central and South America and have truly enjoyed the beauty and culture of all of these amazing places. Whether in the Alps mountains, the Middle Eastern deserts, or the South American jungles, I have found immense natural beauty and met so many wonderful people. By the way, I have now lived in the Kootenays for 20 years and though I still enjoy travelling, this is my favourite place and I am so glad to call Castlegar home.

There is another discovery I have found in every place I have been. Everywhere I go I meet brothers and sisters in Christ, people from every nation and language who are fellow believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who, like myself, have been born into the family of God through faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and the salvation of our eternal souls.

In Revelation 5:9 we read of the redeemed in heaven singing to Jesus, “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.”

The gospel knows no boundaries, but whosoever will repent of sin and believe on the finished work of Jesus on the cross will receive His forgiveness and eternal life. As the Creator of all, He loves all and brings us all into the fellowship of His family when we receive His salvation.
