With cold weather approaching, Castlegar and District Community Services is asking for the community’s help to better meet the needs of the city’s vulnerable citizens.

“As the weather gets colder, and with no emergency shelter confirmed for this winter, we are very concerned about the health and safety of our local vulnerable and unhoused folks,” says CDCSS.

“We are therefore appealing to the generosity of our community, including those of you who may have already made an early donation, to help us continue these critical services throughout the winter months.”

The non-profit organization runs several different outreach programs as well as the new Community Connections Centre.

They say their biggest need is cash, but donations of warm clothing, blankets, and food are also appreciated.

If you would like to make a donation, call 250-365-2104 for more information.
