Castle Wood Village saluted its many volunteers on Thursday with a Hawaiian-themed celebration.
The music, dancing, drinks and food were part of national Volunteer Appreciation Week and the colourful shirts and leis, well, they were just for fun, said community manager Linda Frew.
"I bet you we have 100 volunteers," she said. "It's a party for them."
Those volunteers do everything from calling bingo numbers to helping with the gardening to providing musical entertainment for the residents, Frew added.
Castle Wood Village is an independent and assisted-living complex with 110 private suites specifically designed for seniors.
