The Trail/Castlegar Registered Music Teachers’ Branch celebrated Canada Music Week back in November with a student recital featuring pianists, violinists, and vocalists. The evening concluded with local students receiving branch awards for the highest practical and theoretical marks in their respective exams.

The following students were acknowledged for receiving Conservatory Canada Medals of Excellence for the top marks in B.C. for their practical piano exams: Ryder Schmidt for Contemporary Idioms Level 1, Nova Ellis for Contemporary Idioms Level 2, Soleil Bitting for Contemporary Idioms Level 3, and Danica Gritchin for Contemporary Idioms Level 8. Also Julie Higgins was acknowledged for receiving the Royal Conservatory of Music Gold Medal Level 4 Voice, for the top mark in B.C.
