Blue Barn Pet & Hobby Farm in Castlegar has been recognized as the Best Independent Retailer for Western Canada during the annual Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council of Canada (PIJAC) Pet Industry Trade Show.

“Public recognition is something pet community professionals do not often receive,” said PIJAC in a news release. “Highlighting the hard work of these trailblazers tells our story as an industry and inspires others to follow their lead.”

The vote-based awards aim to recognize people who go the extra mile in educating their clients and readily offer support, whether it be related to animal well-being, the promotion of responsible pet ownership, product-related, customer support, or outstanding community involvement.

PIJAC is a national non-profit known in the pet industry for its education, information and advocacy work.
