The Twin Rivers Community Choir is working on another music video and they are looking to the community for kindness-themed content.

In the video, the choir will be performing Rise Up – the 2016 hit song by Andra Day.

‘‘Rise Up focuses on themes of community, kindness and resilience when times are hard — themes we can all relate to,” says the choir’s artistic director Christina (Nolan) Allen. “So the choir wanted to find a way to welcome other community members into the production as well.”

Community participation is being sought in the form of a photo contest. Participants are asked to showcase what kindness means to them.

All entries will be entered into a random drawing for a $100 cash prize and some of the entries will be included in the Rise Up video production.

Thanks to the generous support of the Regional District of Central Kootenay Areas I and J, there is no cost to enter the contest or for choir members to participate in the project.

The choir would like this to be an opportunity to spread goodwill and encourage acts of kindness within the community.

The contest is open now and the entry deadline is April 9.

The video production is scheduled to be launched on April 30.
