Castlegar churches offering special Christmas services

St. Peter Lutheran Church will be holding a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 8 p.m. It will include family content, music and a lecture “Good news of great joy!” All are welcome, but with COVID restrictions, masks and pre-registration are required. Castlegar United Church will be hosting a Blue Christmas Service, Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 5:30 p.m. A service of contemplation and lament, recognizing the not-so-jolly feelings Christmas time may bring up for some people.

A Christmas Eve service will be held at 7 p.m. featuring a dramatic telling of the Christmas story plus Scripture readings, carol singing and candle lighting.

Child Within Worship will be held Boxing Day, Dec. 26, at 10 a.m. Lessons and carols plus Christmas crafts.

Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test within 72, hours, wearing masks, and self-assessment of health are required for in-person attendance. Pre-registration of proof is optional, by appointment or at the 10 a.m Sunday service on Dec. 19. Call 250-365-8337 for more information. Kinnaird Church of God will be holding a Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. Face-masks are mandatory indoors.

St. David’s Anglican Church will be streaming its Christmas Eve service live on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. To participate in the service, go to www.valhallaparish.ca/live.

Kinnaird Park Community Church will be holding a Christmas Eve service from 6:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. focusing on The Hope of a New Beginning.
