Castlegar’s Sherry Molnar has been recognized as the Commissionaires 2021 Supervisor of the Year.

Molnar serves as a detention guard supervisor at the Castlegar RCMP Detachment.

She and her husband, Ken Gray, a recently retired commissionaire with 22 years of dedicated service with the Corps, were hosted in Ottawa during the Federation’s fall meetings in November. Throughout this period, the winner and her guest were hosted at various cultural and social venues, and were guests of honour at award events.

“Commissionaires is like a second family to me and I just love being a part of this organization,” Molnar said at the award presentation in Ottawa.

Her outstanding leadership, support, training, and managerial skills, along with her contribution to her community through volunteer work, set her above the rest.

Molnar, who credits her interest in Commissionaires to her husband, said, “He’s always spoken about how great it was working as a guard at the local RCMP detachment and thought I’d be a good fit.”

In expressing pride in her employer, she added that she wouldn’t be working for an organization if she didn’t feel the professionalism, support and genuineness of the people.

As a not-for-profit organization with a veteran-focused social mandate, Commissionaires is dedicated to giving back to its employees. Over 85 per cent of our revenue is driven back to its members, veterans and non-veterans alike, by operating a thriving, self-sustaining enterprise.
