This spring, Castlegar Communities in Bloom began a new partnership with downtown businesses and Equinox Planters.
Eight local businesses have supported this program by purchasing a yearly lease of an Equinox environmentally responsible planter: Pharmasave, Mother Natures, Humble Bean Coffee Company, Silver Birch Massage Therapy, Aeon Studio Esthetics and Hair Salon, Kel Print and Kootenay Market.
These planters are made of recycled plastic and also contain a reservoir for lower water usage. Equinox donated a self-watering rain barrel planter for the participants and Karen Soukeroff of Aeon Hair Salon was the lucky winner.
