After their cat Onyx spent a cold night stuck high up in a tree near Cone Hill Park, a local family called on the Castlegar Fire Department for help.

A team of firefighters responded to the call, hauling a ladder through the park to where the cat was stuck. As the firefighters were attempting to rescue the cat, Onyx decided to find its own way down.

The cat then darted off, causing some anxious moments for its owners. But upon arriving at home, they found Onyx waiting safe and sound and very hungry.
