Castlegar Fire Department sends team to assist with East Kootenay wildfire

The Castlegar Fire Department has loaned two of its crew members and one engine to help support fire suppression activities in the East Kootenay.

Deputy Monsen and Firefighter Howell along with CCA Engine/Tender 2 left Castlegar on Aug. 10 for a deployment scheduled for up to 14 days at the request of the Office of the Fire Commissioner and BC Wildfire Services.

The team assisted at the Cummings Creek Wildfire near the town of Sparwood.
