The Castlegar Fire Department has once again led a successful toy drive campaign to help bring Christmas cheer to local children.

The annual drive has been around for 39 years and fire chief Sam Lattanzio says this year was one of the best.

All toys and gifts were delivered to the Community Harvest Food Bank to be included in this year’s Christmas hampers. The food bank is preparing more than 200 food and gift packages for local families this year.

Lattanzio says the community and corporate contributions for the drive this year are greatly appreciated, “We couldn’t have done it without you.”
