Castlegar’s firefighters are once again collecting toys — making it the 40th year they have brought Christmas cheer to youngsters in the area.

The drive to collect new, unwrapped toys will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Castlegar A&W. A&W will be offering a coupon for a teen burger and root beer to everyone who donates.

They toys will be given to the Community Harvest Food Bank for their annual Christmas hamper distribution.

If you can’t make it to the drive, toys are also being accepted at the Fire Hall Monday to Friday during office hours.
