On Feb. 23, Stanley Humphries Secondary School held a talent show showcasing the various talents of the school’s students.
The event was very successful and about 200 people from the community came out to show their support.
The event showcased a diverse selection of talent ranging from singing and dancing to voice impressions. The show also featured a teacher’s band, and a band consisting of grade 12 students playing old Weezer songs.
Overall the night was filled with lots of laughter and applause. The talent show was organized by grade 12 student Ariana Lavorato, alongside Ms, van Yzerloo. Lavorato decided to take on the talent show for her capstone project, which every grade 12 student needs to complete. Her goal was to create an eventful night filled with student talent to showcase to the community.
Lavorato also wanted to give back to the community by giving all proceeds from the talent show to the Coldest Night Of The Year fundraiser. The talent show was able to raise $1,250 for the charity. Stanley has currently raised $3,600 for the Coldest Night Of The Year, but donations can be made through the end of March.
