The Castlegar and District Hospital Foundation is once again asking the community for donations as they kick off their annual Light Up fundraising campaign.
Funds raised this year will be used to upgrade equipment at the Castlegar Health Centre lab. The foundation plans to purchase a $25,000 hematology analyzer.
Light Up donations don’t just help the health centre, they benefit the whole community as new and improved equipment is added to the services available to local patients.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there will not be the usual gathering on pledge day, which takes place on Dec. 3 this year. Instead, people are encouraged to donate online at castlegarhospitalfoundation.org or send their donations in by mail to CDHF at 709-10th Street, Castlegar, BC V1N2H7. Donations can also be dropped off at the health centre on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“I really have to acknowledge all of the people who have donated all these years,” says CDHF secretary/treasurer Nettie Stupnikoff. “We really appreciate their help because without them, we couldn’t do what we are doing.”
Stupnikoff also says the foundation is looking for new board members. If you are interesting in helping improve the health of your community, contact CDHF at 250-304-1209.
