A new and unique event rolled into Castlegar on Saturday — Jalopy Parade.
The event featured what you would expect — a parade of dilapidated and interesting vehicles — but it also included a concert and other activities and according to Tim Thiessen, one of the event’s organizers, “lots of laughter.”
“It was a fairly disorganized event. It was a jalopy of an event, but it was lots of fun,” said Thiessen.
The evening’s nearly sold-out concert was held at the Portuguese Social Centre and featured several punk and rock bands including the Adit’s and Toaster.
Jalopy Productions hopes to make the parade and concert an annual event.
