Remembrance Day ceremonies in Castlegar will go ahead on Nov. 11, but they will be slightly altered due to current COVID-19 restrictions.

The ceremony will take place at the Cenotaph in Kinsmen Park at 11 a.m.

Mayor Kirk Duff will be speaking as well as Catherine Zaitsoff, who will be speaking on behalf of MP Richard Cannings.

The event is organized by the Castlegar Robson Legion and they say that provincial COVID-19 protocols will be in place.

There will not be a parade this year.

The Legion’s lounge will be open after the ceremony to veterans and members only, with a maximum of 50 people at a time in the lounge. The Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be providing snacks to the attendees.
