Remembrance Day is Friday, Nov. 11 and the Castlegar and Robson Legion is inviting the community to join them in marking the day by attending the ceremony at Kinsmen Park in downtown Castlegar.

Remembrance Day Schedule:

10:30 a.m. Parade/march from the Legion to the Cenotaph at Kinsmen Park

10:50 a.m. Cenotaph ceremony begins

11:00 a.m. Two minutes of silence

Speakers during the ceremony will include West Kootenay MLA Katrine Conroy (or her representative), West Kootenay/South Okanagan MP Richard Cannings (or his representative) and Mayor Maria McFaddin.

The Legion Lounge will be open after the ceremony to all community members.

The Legion launched its annual Poppy Campaign in late October by presenting Castlegar’s mayor with the first poppy of the season. Poppy distribution/donation boxes can be found in stores around the community.
