A local nail technician has invited women to get in on Movember and help fight prostate cancer.

Suzie LaRose is the nail technician at Jagged Edge in Robson and throughout the rest of the month, she’s invited women to add moustaches to their manicures.

The cost is $5 per moustache (on top of the cost of the manicure) and all proceeds from the moustaches will go to fighting prostate cancer.

LaRose says it’s perfect for anyone whose boyfriend or husband doesn’t want to grow a moustache for Movember, or for anyone who wants to show support for the men in their life.

“I’m hoping that … women will get excited about this to help out and what not, because we all have dads or brothers or husbands that possibly could have prostate cancer,” she says. “So it’s just a neat way to show support.”

LaRose has trained to paint portraits on nails and uses gel paints from Vancouver to create detailed nail art. She’s using the same paint to create the moustaches for Movember and can also paint them in colours other than black — like sparkling rose gold.

For those wanting to be a little more discreet, LaRose is happy to add moustaches to a painted pedicure instead (or maybe as well).

To get moustachioed nails, book an appointment with LaRose by calling Jagged Edge at 250-365-1111.
