In solidarity with people around the world calling for peace, about 170 people of diverse cultures, faiths and ages gathered to pray, sing and chant for global peace at the Brilliant Cultural Centre in Castlegar on Dec. 21. Dozens more joined in by livestream.

"The harmonious event flowed with voices of continuous prayer, multi-faith choirs, musicians and spiritual singers with hope for an end to the increasing wars and suffering," said event organizer Nadia Podmoroff. "Organizers were moved by the outpouring of heartfelt support for peace they received throughout the event and express their gratitude to all volunteers, facilitators and participants."
