The Rock, Gem, and Mineral Show runs June 4 and 5, at the Castlegar and District Community Complex.

If you are interested in rocks, gems, fossils, minerals, crystals, geology, geodes, prospecting and anything to do with rocks, then this two day event is a  must-attend.

Young and old, amateurs and professionals —all will find a treasure to bring home and learn something new!

The Gem and Mineral Federation of Canada (GMFC) is putting on this show on Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this time the GMFC members will come from across Canada to meet, hold their AGM and the show.

The show is open to the public. Come on in to browse, buy, learn, enjoy!

This is the 33rd annual event and we are very lucky to have this national event held here in the Kootenays for the first time in 20 years.

The weekend long event is hosted by the local Rockhounder Clubs, the Kokanee Club of Nelson and the Selkirk Club of Castlegar.  All are members of the B.C. Lapidary Society.

Admission fee: Adults, $4; children, $2.

For more information, contact the Kokanee Club of Nelson by email at Bob Lerchorgmec@shawbiz.ca or the Selkirk Club through Lesley Anderton at hlkillo@telus.net.
