PHOTOS: Castlegar Sculpturewalk presents Night of Fire

2023 award winners announced

Castlegar Sculpturewalk wrapped up the year with their Night of Fire sculpture burning celebration.

The event also included the announcement of this year’s Sculpturewalk winners. All of this year’s winners were from British Columbia.

The People’s Choice Award went to Rufous (hummingbird) by Nelson father-and-son team Nathan and Sabian Smith. The sculpture will be purchased and added to Castlegar’s permanent collection.

Crude accommodations (crab in can) by Kare Ford from Salt Spring Island took second and Lost Adrift (adventurer) by Karl Mattson from Rolla took third.

However, Crude Accommodations took first in the Artistic Merit category.

Modern Man Does Research (man on toilet) by Ronald Simmer from Burnaby took second and Touch Down (pictograph) by Les Louis from Cawston.
