Whether hard-core scotch whisky fans, or simply sold on decadent dining, the group that all but filled the Element Club on June 22 left satiated.

The Dram Good evening, a major fundraiser for Castlegar's Sunrise Rotary Club, featured an educational guide to the world of scotch whisky. Seven varieties were served to the throng, having been described by industry expert Dan Vollway.

The regular infusion of spirits was organized to coincide with a five course meal, featuring seared ahi tuna, crispy lamb popsicle, rocket prawns, braised short ribs and sticky toffee pudding, and cigars for those who were so inclined.

All told, it was a most successful event, getting very close to selling out the 80 tickets that went for $100 a piece.

By all accounts the c-note was well worth the lavish experience.
