Castlegar’s outdoor community ice rinks opened last week, but warmer temperatures forecast for this week may force a closure.

The rinks are free to use for skating and hockey. They are located at the back side of Kinnaird Park, 2501 14th Avenue. They are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day as weather allows and lit during the evening hours.

Both rinks normally remain open as long as temperatures remain below freezing. The rinks may close from time to time according to weather conditions or maintenance needs.

The current status of the ice rinks can be found at castlegar.ca/rinkstatus.
