Summer, sunshine and Christina Lake, what could be better?
The icing on the cake for guests at the Christina Lake Homecoming Summerfest was having the chance to paddle on a dragon boat with the Kootenay Robusters.
Robusters provided paddles, PFD’s and some extra power on Saturday, so that people of all ages could see what it takes to get the dragon up and running.
“Cottagers have welcomed back the sound of the Kootenay Robusters’ dragon boat drum echoing over the waters of Christina Lake as the team gets back into shape after a three-year absence (due to COVID),” Robuster Jan Micklethwaite shares.
Of summerfest, which ran July 6 to July 9, Micklethwaite says, “Christina Lake Homecoming Summerfest has become a tradition enjoyed by many who have wonderful memories of going to the lake as children — and is just as much fun for those new to the area.”
