A community-led food drive in Robson gathered more than $2600 in cash plus a trailer and SUV packed with food for the local food bank.
“It blows my mind, the level of generosity people display,” said volunteer Dustin LePage. “My heart is very warm.”
The event featured a drive-thru style drop off manned by mask-wearing community members.
“It’s during these times that we need to be innovative and resilient and for folks all over the Kootenays to drive by and make a donation that not only supports the food bank but demonstrates, through actions, said needed resilience,” said LePage.
Santa was even on hand to help wave in traffic.
