Wildsight’s annual Classroom with Outdoors program visited Castlegar’s Kinnaird Elementary this week with a trip to Syringa Provincial Park.
Grade 4 classes took part in an all day hike on the Yellow Pine Trail and learned about plant identification, photosynthesis and the local ecosystem.
Classroom with Outdoors is a school-based environmental education program provided to schools across the Columbia Basin.
Columbia Power is a sponsor of this year’s program and Llewellyn Matthews, Director of (back row-centre) Environment, took time out to visit students and educators at the end of their field trip.
