It was a Sunday afternoon (June 23) in Robson when drills like the one pictured were noticed at the local volunteer fire department. A brief word with the attending training officer, Capt. Chris MacBain revealed that it was fairly serious business going on.
Robson firefighters were in the process of being tested on the upgrading of their skills and qualifications (levels 1 and 2 as defined by an outfit known as the National Fire Protection Association).
"Usually only career departments go for this level of certification," said MacBain, referring to the highest level available.
