Arthur Werner is walking across North America not only to raise money for various charities but also to bring awareness to those charities and to remember family members lost too early.

One of the charities Arthur has chosen is Habitat for Humanity West Kootenay. Arthur's mother, Joanie Bund, lives in Castlegar and is on the Habitat for Humanity board. Joanie's husband Cecil, who has since passed, was instrumental in getting the Habitat house project in Castlegar started.
