Destination Castlegar is launching a visitor feedback survey for summer 2022. The survey will serve as an opportunity to gain a better understanding of how tourists experience Castlegar, helping Castlegar make informative decisions regarding community improvements.

The short survey includes questions regarding tourists’ motivation for visiting, their travelling arrangements, and their recommendations for improvements.

Five-dollar coffee cards, and visitor experiences, will be made available to incentivize tourists to participate.

“Gathering this feedback from visitors will allow Destination Castlegar to advocate for future development that will help the growth of our tourism destinations and bring equal benefits to the local community while also enhancing tourism recruitment,” said Andrea Ryman, marketing director for Destination Castlegar.

Destination Castlegar is in the process of performing a four-phase destination development plan: engaging locals, polling visitors, and working closely with both Heritage B.C. and Indigenous B.C. to collect as much public information as possible.

With this critical insight, Destination Castlegar will begin workshops with local leaders, elected officials, and community champions to outline a destination enhancement strategy.
