At the end of August when diversity of lifestyles was being celebrated in a number of locations (including Nelson, which hosted the Kootenay Pride Parade) an event was held at the Element Club in Castlegar where more than $3,000 was raised and donated to an outfit called Freedom Quest Regional Youth Services.
