Artist Erica Konrad will open her show Everything Became Beautiful at the Hidden Garden Gallery in New Denver from July 27 to August 1.

Konrad will show her current body of work based on her interpretation of human and plant cells. The work is inspired by her recent journey through cancer and healing. The core of Konrad’s work is a contradiction between fragility and strength and marks a paradigm shift in her work, with a focus on installations, and forms and patterns linking the micro and macro worlds.

After facing her own mortality, all things around her became beautiful, which inspired her to create these new works. Exploring the connections between science and art, Konrad is acutely aware of the profound effects these tiny cells have on human consciousness and how one cell gone wrong can alter someone’s life. Dissecting the cell structure and reassembling the elements into something beautiful is her attempt to document her journey.

Everything Became Beautiful is a love letter to her cells, and a personal testament to courageously moving forward into new territory.
