You've heard the expression, 'next best thing to a square meal?' Well, in some cases, like the Castlegar PM Rotary Club's annual Sunfest Pancake Breakfast, round, or sort of round takes a back seat to no cuisine.

We're talking about a pancake breakfast in the Kootenay Market parking lot, Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3 to get you ready for all the fun jammed into the rest of Sunfest... with pancakes, sausages, eggs, coffee, juice... a filling meal for only $6.The event predates Sunfest according to Rotarian Dan Rye.

"The Rotary club in Castlegar has been doing this for well over 40 years," he said. "No one knows the exact number of years. For a lot of the people who come out it's like old home week." Rye says people have been asking about it a lot lately."It is a fundraiser for us," Rye continued, "but it's one of our funnest fundraisers."

The meal is to be served Saturday morning from 7 to 11, Sunday from 8 to 11.  "Over the two days we'll probably feed close to 1,000 people," said Dan Rye.So, whatever else you've got planned for Sunfest, don't miss out on the pancake breakfast at the Kootenay Market at 635 Columbia Avenue.
