The runners in Castlegar said the cloudy, rainy weather was perfect, but then, they are a pretty optimistic crew. Making an effort in the West Kootenay, the group was headed for Calgary before doing a load of running in Eastern Canada.

The local contigent was made up of runners from Slovakia, Ukraine and Canada.

They made a special stop at the MIR Centre for Peace where refreshments and public relations were taken care of.

As stated in its literature, "The World Harmony Run is a global torch relay that symbolizes humanity's universal aspiration for a more harmonious world."
