A grant of $1000.00 from Kootenay Savings Community Foundation has put

Grandview Neighbourhood Garden another step closer

to their goal to fence the garden to eliminate deer and elk damage.

On July 11, five of the garden members met in the garden with Sandro Rotach,

manager of the  Castlegar Kootenay Savings Credit Union Downtown Branch, for the grant

presentation. After the

presentation and photos, Mr Rotach was given a tour of

the garden, and the gardeners explained their vision for the garden and

future plans. Because the garden is open to all

residents of Castlegar and surrounding communities, this grant is a benefit

to all. Truly an example of being “Better

Together”, as the Kootenay Savings slogan says.
